Kerke, Teologie en Sosio-ekonomiese kontekste in SA vandag

Prof Nico Koopman, dekaan van die Fakulteit Teologie nooi u graag na die Teologiese Dag wat die opening van die fakulteit se akademiese jaar inlei. Dit vind plaas op Maandag 3 Februarie 2014 van 09:00 – 13:00 in die Attie van Wijk Ouditorium by Fakulteit Teologie, Dorpstraat 171, Stellenbosch. Die tema vir die dag is: Kerke, Teologie en Sosio-ekonomiese kontekste in SA vandag.

Minister Trevor Manuel, Minister in die Presidensie, sal as hoofspreker optree by die geleentheid en sal fokus op die Nasionale Ontwikkelingsplan (NOP). Dr Nadine Bowers-Du Toit, ds Averell Rust, biskop Zipho Siwa en dr Braam Hanekom sal die paneelbespreking oor die tema lei. Ons wil graag teologies reflekteer oor die NOP, ten einde kerke en ander godsdienstige groepe bewus te maak van die uitdagings voortspruitend uit die NOP. Bywoning is gratis en almal is welkom! Parkering by die fakulteit is beperk en gaste word aangeraai om te parkeer in die Laan of op die walle van die Eersterivier (oorkant Paul Roos Gimnasium). Laat ruim tyd toe vir verkeersdruk.

Die openingserediens van die fakulteit vind plaas op Sondag 2 Februarie 2014 om 19:00 in die NG Stellenbosch-Wes gemeente, Alexanderstraat, Stellenbosch. Die prediker by hierdie geleentheid is prof Julie Claassens. Dr Almatine Leene sal as liturg optree.

Prof Nico Koopman, dean of the Faculty of Theology cordially invites you to the Theological Day, which is the start of the academic year of the faculty.  It takes place on Monday 3 February 2014 from 09:00 – 13:00 in the Attie van Wijk Auditorium at the Faculty of Theology, 171 Dorp Street, Stellenbosch. The theme for the day is: Churches, Theology and Socio-economic contexts in SA today.

Minister Trevor Manuel, Minister in the Presidency, will deliver the keynote address, focusing on the National Development Plan (NDP). Dr Nadine Bowers-Du Toit, Rev Averell Rust, Bishop Zipho Siwa en dr Braam Hanekom will lead the panel discussion. We would like to reflect theologically on the NDP, thereby creating awareness of the challenges arising from the NDP. Attendance is free and all are welcome! Limited parking is available at the faculty and guests are advised to park in The Avenue or on the banks of the Eerste River (opposite Paul Roos Gimnasium). Please allow ample time for traffic.

The welcoming church service of the faculty will take place on Sunday 2 February 2014 at 19:00 at Stellenbosch-Wes DRC, Alexander Street, Stellenbosch. Prof Julie Claassens will deliver the sermon and dr Almatine Leene will be the liturgist.
